The E9X generation, covering the E90 saloon, E92 coupe and E93 convertible, is the only M3 BMW has built with a V8: the naturally aspirated S65, developed from the M5's V10 with two cylinders removed. It's a unique point in the M3's history, both the sole V8 generation and the last naturally aspirated M3 before BMW moved to turbocharging with the F80.

Suspension and chassis work is by far the largest category of interest for this generation, ahead of engine and tuning parts and exhaust systems. That pattern is consistent with a platform now old enough that wear-and-tear replacement sits alongside performance upgrades.
