Because both M4 generations are turbocharged from the outset - the S55 in the F82/F83, the S58 in the G82/G83 - exhaust and cooling parts dominate demand across the whole M4 range in a way they don't on the naturally aspirated end of the M3 lineup. Downpipes and full exhaust systems are consistently the most requested upgrade on both chassis, sought both for sound and for unlocking power the factory turbos leave on the table.

The F82/F83, built from 2014 to 2019, produced several limited-run performance variants including the M4 GTS and M4 CS that remain sought after today. The current G82/G83, on sale since 2020, is the first M4 available with xDrive all-wheel drive and has since been joined by its own limited-run CSL and CS variants. As the newer chassis, the G82/G83 aftermarket is still building out, with exhaust parts currently the clearest area of demand.
