K Sport Brake Discs
K-Sport Brake Discs
Ksport manufactures and distributes high quality race proven coilovers, big brake kits, and other suspension pieces. With a manufacturing base in Mesa, Arizona, KSport was founded in 2003 and have been dedicated to bringing affordable, durable and high-performing suspension, brake and air ride systems to the market.
The Ksport team is known for it's innovation and knowledge of the auto industry, and they offer creative ways to improve service and products; for road racing or just for enjoyment for the modified daily driver.
Ksport quality control process
Ksport produce high quality products which exceed industry standards. Materials are tested and re-tested to eliminate stress and product failure. First off, all parts are tested in a salt sprayer, which simulates 3 years of exposure in a highly corrosive environment, in only 30 days. Specially calibrated equipment tests metal parts for hardness, and they're tested for flaws and smoothness using state of the art scanning equipment.
Shock absorbers are tested at random, to ensure that all compression and rebound results are within specifications, and shock bodies are periodically tested for endurance and strength and put through vigorous procedures that compress the shock one million times.
For brakes, each brake rotor is checked and balanced before exiting the factory, and centre bells for Ksport brake systems are randomly checked to ensure that they are balanced within spec.
Bedding in Ksport Brakes
If you've bought and installed a Ksport big brake kit, for best performance you should carry out the bedding process. Check that your brakes feel smooth and are without any vibrations. If you do feel vibrations, you should stop your vehicle immediately and re-check the installation. On a remote road, drive at around 30-45 mph and perform at least 10 brake applications, using 3 second durations at least a quarter of a mile apart, using light or medium pressure This will gradually increase the rotor and brake pad temperature and allow the brake pad and disc to mate with the proper friction.
Ksport Coilover damping adjustment
Damping controls the travel speed and resistance of the vehicles suspension. An undamped car will oscillate up and down, and damping controls how much this oscillation happens. With proper damping in place, the car will settle back to a normal state in a minimal amount of time. By damping, you're etiherincreasing or decreasing the resistance to fluid flow in the coilover making the ride harder of softer. Ksport coilovers feature 36 levels of damping adjustment, which allow you to perfectly dial in your coilover kit. The process is simple; by inserting your damping knob at either the top or the bottom of the coilover (depending on which Ksport model you've installed), and then turning, each click will be one step of the 36 step adjustability. The baseline setting can be set by turning the know until it stops, and then turning it back 18 clicks (half-way to the full 36 step adjustment).
