Honda Civic Type R performance parts, spanning every generation from the JDM-only EK9 through to the current FL5. Whether you're building an EP3, restoring an EK9, or running the latest turbocharged FL5, browse suspension, brakes, drivetrain and engine components sourced from Powerflex, Hardrace, ARP, Spoon Sports, Mugen-adjacent tuning brands and more.

The Civic Type R badge has run for almost thirty years and has moved through three distinct eras, each with a different engine architecture and a different relationship to the UK market. Understanding which era a car belongs to matters more than the model name alone when it comes to parts fitment.

The badge began in Japan. The 1997 EK9 was JDM-only, powered by the B16B, a 1.6-litre engine that produced 185 PS at a 8,200 rpm redline and became the highest specific output naturally aspirated production engine of its time. Around 16,000 were built before production ended in 2000, and every EK9 on UK roads today arrived as a private import rather than a factory UK car.

The next era moved production to Britain. The EP3 (2001-2005) was the first Type R ever built outside Japan, manufactured at Honda's Swindon plant, followed by the FN2 (2007-2011) built on the same site. Both used naturally aspirated K20 engines (K20A2 and K20Z4 respectively) rather than the JDM-only B-series and later K20A units fitted to the same-generation FD2 saloon, which stayed Japan-only throughout its 2007-2010 run. This is the era most UK Type R stock and UK-market history centres on, and it's reflected in the depth of parts available here for EP3 and FN2 specifically.

The current era is turbocharged. The FK2 (2015-2017) was the first Type R to drop natural aspiration for a K20C1 turbo engine, producing around 310 PS, and was again built exclusively in the UK. The FK8 (2017-2021) followed with roughly 320 PS and a Nurburgring lap record for a front-wheel-drive production car, and the current FL5 continues the turbocharged K20C1 line with around 329 PS. Swindon-built production has continued through this era, meaning the UK has now hosted the majority of Type R generations built to date, even where a given model wasn't officially sold new in this market.

Because fitment splits along these era lines rather than by badge alone, it's worth confirming exactly which generation a part is listed for. K20-based EP3, FN2 and FD2 components share some crossover with each other and with the Integra DC5, while the turbocharged FK2/FK8/FL5 generation runs a different engine family entirely and shares little with the naturally aspirated cars beyond the badge.
