The F87-generation M2 came in two distinct forms. The original M2 used BMW's single-turbo N55 straight-six, while the M2 Competition, introduced in 2018, switched to the twin-turbo S55 shared with the F80 M3 and F82 M4, detuned slightly for the smaller car. That shared engine means a meaningful proportion of parts developed for the F80 M3 and F82/F83 M4 - exhausts, downpipes, cooling upgrades - carry over directly to M2 Competition owners.

Exhaust systems and suspension and chassis parts are the two largest categories here, running close to level with each other, followed by cooling. That balance reflects a car bought as much for track use as daily driving: cooling upgrades matter on an M2 pushed hard, given the S55's turbocharged output in a relatively small engine bay.
