Designed to fit all models, this freer-flowing intercooler is a direct replacement for the smaller and more restrictive OEM set up.

Featuring a 55mm core design together with high-flow cast end tanks and lower alloy scoop to force air directly to the core, the AIRTEC intercooler offers much greater surface area, efficiency and volume over standard. Despite this improvement, it fits neatly behind the original bumper, requires no trimming or cutting and can be used with the original hoses.

Dyno Test
Tested at Devil Developments rolling road - Test carried out on Golf Mk5 GTI 2.0 TFSi 200ps. Data collected was Intake Temperatures before & after Intercooler & BHP increases.

Standard Intercooler & Stage 1 ECU Remap:
Intake Temperature: 46 degreesC
Power: 239.7bhp
46 degreesCC is a close limit before ECU starts retarding timing to keep the engine safe, which means you will start to lose power.

Airtec Stage 2 Intercooler & Stage 1 ECU Remap:
Intake Temperature: 27 degreesCC
Power: 253.4bhp.
The Airtec Intercooler makes the Charged Air (Intake Temps) cooler so you gain horsepower.

The Airtec Intercooler will really come into its own when used on more modified vehicles, even bigger BHP gains could be seen on serious spec car which include, full exhaust, turbo upgrades etc, these modifications put serious strain on the cooling ability of the stock Intercooler, and you could be losing in excess of 30+ bhp just by keeping you standard Intercooler fitted!
