Dyno Results
Intercoolers being testing for ACT (Air Charge Temperature). Test carried out with Stage 1 mapped vehicle.

Standard BMW Intercooler:
Average air temp into intercooler: 115 degreesC
Average air temp out of intercooler: 69 degreesC

That's an average 49 degreesC drop, but anything over 50 degreesC engine intake temperature is not good for the engine.

AIRTEC Intercooler:
Average air temp into Intercooler: 84 degreesC
Average air temp out of Intercooler: 36degreesCC

The AIRTEC intercooler was seeing an average of 36 degreesC with an increase of around 17 bhp.

The test shows with a basic Stage 1 remap, you can gain power with just having a AIRTEC intercooler. Having an AIRTEC intercooler fitted keeps air temperatures down resulting in a proven increase in power.
