This ceramic-coated stainless steel decat downpipe is designed to improve exhaust gas flow, turbocharger efficiency and engine performance on the Subaru Impreza NewAge WRX STI (2001–2007).
Manufactured from high-quality T304 stainless steel, the downpipe replaces the restrictive factory downpipe and catalytic converters with a freer-flowing, one-piece design featuring a 3" bore.
Removing the catalytic converters and increasing the exhaust bore helps reduce back pressure, allowing exhaust gases to exit the turbocharger more efficiently. This can improve throttle response, turbo spool-up and overall engine performance, particularly on modified or tuned vehicles.
The downpipe also features a ceramic coating designed to provide improved heat protection, helping reduce radiant heat within the engine bay. This makes it particularly suitable for performance applications where exhaust temperatures can become significantly higher.
TIG-welded construction and CNC-machined flanges provide strength, durability and accurate fitment, while the integrated lambda sensor boss allows the original oxygen sensor to be installed.
